Lorena Castro was heading to Lima’s city center when she noticed the helpless kitten.
“I was about to get out of the car to pick her up when the motorcycle cop passed by,” Castro told Peruvian newspaper El Comercio.
“[He said,] ‘Stay in the car. I’ll take care of it.’”
She then decided to turn on her camera and caught the dramatic rеscuе on video.
The police officer proceeded to shut down several lanes of traffic and savеd the kitten from being hit by a bus.

When he returned, Castro wanted to give him some money for his efforts, but the officer refused and continued on his day.
Castro has now adơрted the kitten and named her Polly Tana after the “Metropolitano” bus line the kitten was found on.
Little Polly is now in good health, thanks to the kindness of one Peruvian police officer.
