When her family no longer wanted her, a cat found herself wandering the streets of Montreal, Canada. She was observed wandering about outside overnight with a pregnant tummy, looking for refuge.

Gael, a concerned neighbor, discovered the cat’s misery, took her to safety, and attempted to care for her while they sought assistance from their local rescue, Chatons Orphelins Montréal.
“We called her Madras because she was so lovely and kind,” Celine Crom of Chatons Orphelins Montréal told Love Meow.
Madras went to her foster home and said her final goodbyes to the outdoors. She immediately came out of her shell, cuddled up in her cozy nest, and drank up all of her foster mom’s love.
She went into labor a few days later and gave birth to two lovely kittens, both males. “Her foster mother was there the entire time, soothing and reassuring her.”
Casper and Cotton, the feline brothers, were fortunate to be born into a family who cared for them. Madras stopped producing milk a week later and required emergency medical treatment for a fever and illness.
She regained her strength with adequate treatment and plenty of affection and didn’t hesitate to return to fulfilling mommy responsibilities.
Her foster mother stepped in to bottle feed the kittens 24 hours a day, seven days a week. She assisted Madras in keeping the infants clean, nourished, and adored.
“Thanks to the rescuers and the foster family, her babies lived and flourished,” Celine told Love Meow.
